ARMA 2 Installation and updating made easy.

Postby Highway_Star on Sat May 29, 2010 8:46 pm

Installing Arma 2 and its mods can be a daunting task. The Razorbacks platoon and command staff have decided to offer open nights for all RIP members; anyone who has a copy of Arma 2 and wants to play can drop by for a one-to-one guide for installing the game. The dates for this are yet to be announced, but sign up here to show your interest. I'm looking for instructors too.

We'll even do some practice and training if there's time. :)

Good call Highway...

Would be good t arrange a night where we can take several people at once through the daunting task of getting Arma up to ACE and the other mods so that you can come and enjoy this awesome game on our server...

It looks complicated, but once set-up it's easy to update and get on the server...

As mentioned above, we can then run people through the basics of the game and the features of ACE..

Yeah, sign me up please.... one question: Roughly how much extra free space is required for the extras after installing Arma2 and patch 1.05?

My ArmA 2 directory is 18.1GB in size. But that's including the core game as well as the mods.

I can help. Not an experenced ARMA player yet, but I had some nighmares with the install. Sixupdater wouldnt work for me, being a dumb ass. I update from Kellys heros through addon sync and got it to work that way. This can make life much easyier for a noob like me. Just one prog to deal with. Update on our ACE server, then kellys heros and I am loading into game no problems.

The problems arise when Kellys Heroes don't keep up to date with the latest ACE versions that RIP uses. I'd still recommend using SixUpdater for ACE.

Yes, I agree use Sixupdater. I only used the other method cus I had issues. They are as on the ball about updates as bear is tho. Never had an issue connecting to our server when using Kellys. But I only play a couple of times a week so its hard to tell.

Oxy and Darkfighter had the same problem. Send them a PM asking how they solved it.
