RULES AND GUIDLINES
First and foremost, we are a mature bunch of fellow gamers, intent on having fun whilst gaming online. Our goal is to create our own niche in the gaming world where we can all gather and play on cheat free servers and enjoy the friendships we make. By reading this section of our webpage, we hope to show you what we are about and what we are looking to create. To ensure order and stability amongst our Clan members and the running of our Public servers, like most other clans, we have a structure in place, but more of that later.
The [RIP] clan is completely setup on a donation basis. As you all know, servers, voice programs, domain registration etc. cost money. All members donate a minimum of 5GBP/month towards the running of the clan, all money is spent on servers etc. All members receive benefits in terms of private slots (game permitting), admin access (rank permitting), etc.
Our goal is to have multiple gaming servers of the more popular games out there, and we will test any new releases as they come out. This way we hope to be a more dynamic Clan and offer a wide variety and choice of gaming to our members.
New ApplicantsAll new members to the clan will go through a Basic Training program to ensure that they are setup correctly in the basic communication system of the Clan and are registered and familiar with the Clan Forums. A Training Officer will be assigned to each new recruit and initial communication will be done over Yahoo Messenger. Hence it is compulsory to have a Yahoo Messenger account, a valid email and a working set of headphones/speakers and microphone.
As to our voice program, details will be given to you at the appropriate time. Once an applicant is setup, they will be on a one-month probationary period, giving both the Clan and themselves time to ensure that this is where and what they are looking for. No donation is expected in this period.
On completion of the probationary period, the new recruit will be placed in a Platoon, according to which primary game he has chosen. However, we have a structure in place where any member can play any game that we support and can be a Volunteer member of other game specific Platoons. We also have a place called the Territorial Army, for those that do not have the time to attend practices as a Platoon member and do not wish to participate in internal or external scrims. These are the choices you have as a member as well as the wide variety of games we are hosting.
On acceptance into the Clan, the new member will attain the rank of Recruit (Rec), and on completion of Basic Training will become a Private, (Pvt). We do not hold tryouts for new members and your skill level is irrelevant to becoming a member. All we really ask is for new members to be able to have respect for their fellow gamers and most importantly to have FUN.
Clan Ranking SystemWe have based our ranking system on the British army. A full layout of this can be viewed on our Website. All members are asked that you respect any senior ranking member, as they would have gained that rank for a reason. All decisions made by the Clan Founders will be final and will always be made in benefit of the Clan. Any problems or complaints should be referred to the Senior Officer in charge of your section of the Clan. If necessary he/she may need to refer to a higher rank, so please be patient. Promotions, ribbons and medals are given out to members who participate and organise Clan activities.
Junior MembersWe have introduced the Junior Brigade into the Clan, because so many of us have children and siblings who want to play the same games. Having them in our own servers and on the same voice programs, simplifies our own domestic issues. They will also be set up with the help of our Training Officers and will have their own forum and voice channel.
RULES- FUN
- This is what we are all here to have.
- From time to time things may not go as you want, please refrain from over expressing yourself when this happens, as annoying or upsetting other members will not be tolerated. This includes the use of our voice program, forums or yahoo.
- Respect is the key and this way we will all get along. Any problems that do come along and cannot be resolved on a one to one basis, of which I am sure there will be a few, refer to your Senior Officer for a solution.
- CHEATING
- We will take cheating as the most serious of all charges. Any member caught cheating will be banned and reported to all relevant authorities.
- Using in game glitches to your advantage will be classed as cheating, so if you know them, don't use them.
- If you suspect a Public player of cheating, please inform an Admin. The Admin will then determine the outcome. Do not attempt to engage in a slagging contest with the in game messages. Remember that in order for our Ranked servers to be filled, we need the participation of public players, so fair play is important on our part.
- This Rule will apply to members who play on other Clan servers, if we are provided with proof of an offence committed on another server we will serve you with a permanent ban.
- VOICE PROGRAM
- When you are playing on a RIP server, you must be on our voice program. Not being on our voice program will get you kicked by the Admin.
- There may be cases when you are playing, but cannot make noise at home, a message beside your name will be accepted.
- We are a mature Clan and expect our members to act accordingly, thus swearing is permitted. Again, remember to respect the other members in the same channel and do not over indulge in these activities. Refer to the rules on FUN.
- Push to Talk is compulsory for all members.
- FORUMS
- Please keep yourself up to date with the forums, as valuable information will be there.
- We expect all members to post on the forums at least once a month this is to ensure that you are still with us.
- Members who have not posted on the forums in a 30-day period will be placed in the MIA section of the roster and will lose their forum and voice program rights. A further 30-day period and they will be removed from the Clan. This is to ensure that we have an up to date Roster and genuine number of Clan members.
- CLAN TAGS
- Whilst playing on the RIP servers, we expect all members to wear their tags. If you don't wear them, do not complain when you are kicked to make a slot for another Clan member.
- We expect each member to be proud to wear the [RIP] tags and associate themselves with us, thus whilst playing on other servers or using another Clans forums we would like to see you wear them, although this is not compulsory.
- If you are seen using tags other than [RIP] tags, you will be deemed as having left the clan and be booted with all access removed.
- GAME PLAY
- We expect all [RIP] members to play fair and in a good manner at all times.
- Each game we host will have its own specific game rules (So make sure you are up to date with them). What applies to the public players will apply to [RIP] members, no exceptions.
- Members will not use the in-game message tool to abuse others, vent their frustration or accuse anyone of cheating. This behaviour will result in a ban.
- If a server is full and you would like to join that game, call on an Admin and they will create a slot for you.
- JUNIORS
- [RIP] is a mature clan and whilst juniors are welcome to join in the [RIP] experience, they will not have the same access as adults.
- Junior members must be related to an active member of [RIP].
- They may play on any of our servers, as would a normal member.
- Juniors must only use the family channel or the academy channel if participating in a course. Juniors may not use any other channels.
- We also ask that juniors playing on our servers be on our voice program whilst doing so. Again, this is to prevent them from being kicked from the server by an admin.
- Juniors may not represent the clan in external fights.
- AWAY ON LEAVE
- If you are going to be away on holiday or an extended work deployment, please inform your Senior Officer. He will then place you in the Away on Leave section of this roster and will prevent you from being placed in the MIA section.
- If you do find yourself in the MIA section (normally after forgetting to inform someone), please contact your Senior Officer by yahoo and he will assist you in gaining your rights back.
Rules may change.
Members of [RIP] will have access to our standing orders forum. Here the latest rule amendments and clarifications will be posted. It is the responsibility of [RIP] members to keep themselves up to date with rules.
