Hello fellow members.
Since the Xmas event it has been bugging me that many couldnt join us in Gmod and had to miss out on some fun due to technical issues. Never the less, i would like to help you out for future Gmod events.
Many of you couldnt just join the server itself. I think its due to port forwarding. I hope most of you are tech savvy, so you will know what to do with out any problems, but if any trouble arises feel free to poke me in TS. I will try my best to guide you through it.
But enough of chit-chat, now to the techincal side of it all.
So these ports need to be modified inside your main router. If you have many, god knows why, routers at home, i would suggest doing it to them all. You need to access your router and find where you can port foward in the routers firewall.
To know whats your gateway. Open Command Prompt and type in command line ipconfig press Enter and in the list search for Gateway:###.###.###.###
Type that IP into your browser to access your router. Warning! The username and password may vary between manufacturers!
Usually firewall modifications can be made under network tab.
To log into Steam and DL content:
UDP - 27015 - 27030
TCP - 27015 - 27030
Steam Client
UDP - 27000 - 27100 - this is for game traffic
UDP - 4380
Dedicated and Listen Servers:
TCP - 27015 - RCON port
UDP - 27015 - Game Traffic
P2P Networking and Steam Voice Chat
UDP - 3478
UDP - 4379
UDP - 4380
