Seeding

What is it and how does it work, i see people in TS where it says afk seeding and i was just wondering.

This is basically what seeding is:
It's when the server is/was empty and need people in it for others to start seeing it on their server browser.
You CAN do it AFK but you could also play and make a starting fob and fight over the middle flag of the skirmish map (that automatically triggers when the first person joins the server)
