03 Arma 3 Basic Rotary Exam

This exam is designed to asses candidates on their ability to fly unarmed helicopters using the advanced "RotarLib" flight dynamics within the ArmA 3 engine. Before taking this exam, all candidates are advised to either take the Link Here "Basic Introduction" course and/or spend sufficient time practising their pilot skills before applying. As once this exam begins, any crash of your helicopter will be considered a fail and the candidates will have to re-take the exam at a future date.

The test is broken down into several sections, with the initial stage involving take off, flight and landing on varying difficulty landing zones using the "Humming Bird", "Orca" and "Mohawk" helicopters. This includes landing a Mohawk helicopter on the hospital roof landing pad in Kavala. Once complete, the candidate must then prove their ability to sling a load and transport that load to another location. The final part of the test is basic formation flying, while flying in a group of several helicopters, the candidates are expected to keep formation (including height and speed) while landing and taking off using correct comms procedures.

On completing all of the above parts, a successful candidate will be awarded the "Basic Rotary" badge which will qualify them to progress onto the "Advanced Rotary" course which includes the use of military helicopters and CAS.
